Are there admission criteria?
No. Admissions are available to all students age 16-21 who reside within Palm Beach County Schools. All students who apply will be given an equal chance of being accepted.
How will I be notified if my child was accepted?
Parents will be notified by email within one day of the lottery and letters will be sent via US Mail confirming your child's acceptance. Any students not accepted will be automatically added to the waiting list.
If we are accepted, what’s next?
Student who have been accepted will be asked fill out required forms at the North campus location. Information will be provided regarding an orientation session to new applicants must attend. The information will also be posted on the website once it is available. Students under 18 years of age will be required to have their parents/guardians attend a parent conference regarding enrollment and to complete the enrollment forms.
Are siblings guaranteed admission?
Siblings of students who have already been accepted are granted priority in the lottery process, per Florida Statutes. If there is a spot available in the sibling’s grade level, they will be accepted. If not, they will be moved to the top of the waiting list.
Students will have two sessions to select from to start their enrollment 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. An evening session and/or Saturday sessions may become available based on the needs of students.
Will the school offer special education?
Yes, special education services will be offered at Florida Futures Academy.
What type of parental involvement is required?
Families of Florida Futures Academy will be asked to sign a parent contract acknowledging their commitment to the educational program at the school. This document will be available online soon.
Can I contribute to Florida Futures Academy
Yes. Florida Futures Academy is an official 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation as identified by the IRS, meaning that should you choose to contribute to the school, your contributions may be considered tax exempt.
